The road network has been ever increasing with urbanization and city development strategy, for this Transport Department has been placing greater emphasis on managing and operation existing road networks more efficiently  and effectively through implementation of Intelligent Enforcement Management System (IEMS) to make vehicles and drivers abide under strict enforcement policies.

IEMS Project will involve sophisticated information and communication technology equipments and system, which will monitor the vehicular movement across the traffic and road network in Odisha and drive the enforcement management.

As a pilot project, the IEMS Project will be implemented in around 100 km stretch on NH-16 between Panikoili  to Rameswar wherein  the ANPR cameras will be installed  and commissioned to detect vehicles for over speeding, Triple riding, wrong lane movement, without helmet, rash driving etc and  fine the vehicle as per MV Act and Rules.
