National Road Safety Short Film 2023:
The Commerce & Transport Department, Govt of Odisha, demonstrated a proactive approach towards raising awareness on road safety through the organization of the National Road Safety Short Film Festival. The inaugural event in 2022 marked a significant milestone as the first of its kind in the country, aiming to sensitize people on the importance of safe road practices.
Building on its success, the second edition of the Film Festival in 2023 witnessed a remarkable response, with a total of 247 entries received from various parts of the country and neighboring nations like Nepal, Bangladesh, and Kenya. These entries showcased a diverse array of perspectives on road safety, exploring themes in different languages and cultural contexts.
From this pool, the top 42 films were carefully selected for screening across multiple locations in the state, including Berhampur, Sambalpur, Angul, and Bhubaneswar. The screenings engaged over 5000 citizens, effectively amplifying the reach and impact of the festival in fostering greater awareness and advocacy for road safety practices within the community.
