Project Rakshak, inaugurated by Shri. Naveen Patnaik, Hon’ble Chief Minister on 10-Nov-2021, represents a significant step towards enhancing emergency response capabilities in the state. Recognizing the pivotal role of individuals near accident sites as the true first responders, the state government aims to equip them with essential skills through training. By empowering communities and fostering a culture of readiness, Project Rakshak endeavors to save lives during the critical Golden Hour by ensuring prompt and effective first aid and transportation of the injured to the nearest hospitals.

With the objective of training 30,000 first responders, the initiative has already made substantial progress, with 381 Master Trainers and 12,865 First Responders trained across 30 districts.
